Better balance. Less fear. More life.
Have you noticed changes in the way you move through your day?
You may be:
- reaching for walls, furniture, or another person
- hesitating before stepping off a curb
- avoiding stairs or uneven ground
- feeling less secure when turning
- moving more cautiously
- doing less because you no longer trust your balance
You do not have to fall before changes in balance begin affecting your life.

Why Does Balance Change?
Balance can be affected by many things, including:
- pain, weakness, stiffness, or changes in movement
- vision, hearing, or inner-ear problems
- numbness, neuropathy, or reduced sensation
- medical or neurological conditions
- medication side effects, illness, or fatigue
- old injuries, surgeries, or scar tissue
- fear after a fall or near-fall
- changes in proprioception
Proprioception is your body’s ability to know where it is in space and how it is moving. It helps movement feel safe, comfortable, and familiar.
Sometimes there is one clear cause. More often, several factors are interacting.

Physical factors
• pain
• muscle weakness
• stiffness or reduced flexibility
• arthritis or joint problems
• changes in posture or walking
• foot, ankle, knee, hip, back, or neck problems
• old injuries
• surgeries or scar tissue
• reduced activity or prolonged inactivity
Sensory factors
• numbness or tingling
• neuropathy
• reduced sensation in the feet
• vision changes
• hearing changes
• inner-ear or vestibular problems
Changes in proprioception
Proprioception helps you:
• feel safe and comfortable in movement
• know where your feet and body are without looking
• feel how your weight is distributed
• coordinate your movements
• adjust when you turn or change direction
• respond to uneven ground
• recover when you begin to lose your balance
When proprioception changes, movement can feel uncertain or unsafe—even when your muscles are strong enough to perform the activity.
Medical and neurological factors
• dizziness or light-headedness
• blood-pressure changes
• circulation or cardiovascular conditions
• medication side effects
• illness or hospitalization
• fatigue or reduced endurance
• neurological conditions
• changes in coordination or reaction time
Fear and loss of confidence
• fear after a fall or near-fall
• moving more cautiously
• avoiding stairs or uneven surfaces
• relying more heavily on furniture or another person
• limiting activities outside the home
• doing less because movement no longer feels safe

Your Diagnosis May Not Tell the Whole Story
Medical, neurological, sensory, and physical conditions matter. They should be appropriately evaluated and treated.
But the diagnosis may not explain everything you are experiencing.
Over time, the body compensates for:
- pain
- injuries
- surgery
- scar tissue
- weakness
- illness
- changes in sensation
- changes in movement
One area begins doing the work of another. Posture and walking change. Movement becomes more cautious. The body may have more difficulty adjusting when the ground, position, or environment changes.
That is why improving balance may require more than strengthening the legs or practicing standing on one foot.
It may also require looking at how the whole body is organizing movement.

Total Body Reset™

Total Body Reset, or TBR, uses very gentle mechanical input through the feet to create a whole-body response.
The goal is to give the body new sensory and movement information without asking you to perform a difficult exercise.
TBR may help support changes in:
- proprioception and body awareness
- balance and coordination
- posture
- stiffness or rigidity
- ease of movement
- confidence while standing or walking
You stand comfortably on the equipment while it provides the gentle input. You do not have to balance on an unstable surface or perform the movement correctly.
The subtle movements of the spring-supported boards allow the body to shift and gradually integrate improved movement and function. The person senses the changes as they occur, while we may see broader shifts in posture, mobility, balance, or coordination.

The movement is small. The response can involve the whole body.
The FREEDOM Balance Approach
The FREEDOM Balance Program is designed around the individual—not around a generic set of balance exercises.
Your program may include:
- Total Body Reset™
- gentle myofascial and craniosacral treatment
- support for circulation and comfort
- movement and walking awareness
- individualized balance, mobility, and strengthening activities
- practical movements you can use at home
The goal is to help you move with greater comfort, awareness, confidence and independence—not simply to work harder.
What Would You Like to Do More Comfortably?
Balance is not only about preventing a fall.
It affects whether you feel comfortable:
- walking through a store
- getting up from a chair
- using stairs
- gardening
- traveling
- exercising
- attending family or community activities
- moving through your home without holding onto furniture
The Living Well Snapshot helps you identify:
- what concerns you most
- what has changed
- what you would like to do more comfortably or confidently
- what injuries, surgeries, or health events may be affecting you
- what you have already tried
Completing the Snapshot does not schedule an appointment. It gives us a meaningful place to begin.
Begin With a Conversation

I speak with every potential new client before scheduling an appointment.
This gives us an opportunity to discuss what you are experiencing, what you would like to change, and whether my approach may be appropriate for you.
There is no pressure to schedule. The conversation helps us decide whether we are on the same page and comfortable moving forward.
