Stretching from the inside out is a very different kind of “stretching” program that will help you reduce pain by aiming at the deeper restrictions instead of just where it hurts. You’ll be getting to the root of the problem rather than treating the symptom.
I presume you know about icebergs. They have this little tip that floats above the water and the biggest part of it is under the water. You can’t see it. The tip of your iceberg is where it hurts. The real problem is somewhere else in your body. Nobody sees it because it’s under the surface and usually doesn’t hurt. If we just treat the tip of the iceberg, it’s impossible to heal the injury or pain. For people who don’t get better quickly, this is a significant part of what’s usually going on.

All injuries, trauma & surgeries leave damaged tissue in the body. These insults to the body heal over time and the body recovers to a greater or lesser extent. Damaged tissue doesn’t function the same way intact whole tissue (muscles, tendons, bones, cartilage, etc) functions. Restrictions occur when the natural fluid and structural dynamics in the fascial system are blocked, stuck or disrupted. Scar tissue will form and the natural contraction in healing pulls the tissue into itself and continues to pull inward. The pulling motion can reach all over the body, creating a fascial strain pattern in the body.
The body must compensate and modify normal movement throughout the body with every injury and trauma. The strain patterns generated with the injuries and subsequent compensations silently impact how we move. Over time the body isn’t able to continue compensating and we develop aches and pains that might easily be addressed with strengthening & stretching with generalized programs. Eventually, though, the body reaches its limit of compensation and regular treatments fail. The body reaches a threshold and it says stop & do something different.
At this point, the standard approaches do not address the deeper problem and the individual goes down the path to unresolved chronic pain.
Stretching From the Inside Out addresses these thresholds of compensation.
Stretching from the inside out works with the connective tissue and fascia. This tissue functions differently in the body than muscle tissue so it requires a slower, more sustained stretch for longer period of time. Pulling fascia and connective tissue the way we stretch muscles doesn’t produce the results that stretches with less intensity over a longer period of time. If it did, fewer people would have chronic or recurrent pain and they would be able to keep doing the activities they love to do for a lot longer time.
Fascial tissue connected to muscle fibers.
The Fascial Tissue – or Fascial System has been consistently disregarded as a significant body system in our medical system until recently. To this day fascial tissue is relegated to a function of protection & support of muscles, bones, organs & other tissues in the body. It is important to recognize the value & critical importance of this tissue in the maintenance of movement & function in regards to the resolution of chronic pain.
A Simplistic explanation of the body:
- Bones Give the Body Structure
- Muscles move the Bones
- Fascial Tissue Holds the Body in its Posture
The Fascial System is responsible for the compensations that occur after injury, trauma &/or surgeries.
The fascial tissue actually enters into the bones and into each muscle cell. It functions as scaffolding for the body. So, when you have an injury, it automatically compensates to help you move as effectively and efficiently as possible even though there may be significant imbalances due to different events or experiences.
With regular exercises, these compensations can’t be addressed appropriately. When you do a regular exercise that helps one area, another area complains. With stretching from the Inside Out, we invite the body to release what needs to be released without causing more trauma in other areas of the body.
With stretching from the inside out, we engage the whole body. One area may be causing pain someplace else, so we take a global approach to the program. This means that we want to develop more body awareness. Exercises are generally pain free, gentle, simple and easy to do. We follow the need of the individual body rather than imposing a given program that you would have to accommodate. These Exercises can easily be tailored uniquely for each person.
In stretching from the inside out, we help you see, feel and gently stretch and release to the root of the problem so you get out of pain faster and more easily than if you go around and around on the tip treating just what hurts. We are here to support you in getting back to your favorite activities and moving your body pain free with ease. By helping you stretch out and release your pain, we help you with overall balance, mobility, flexibility and much more.
With more mobility, flexibility and better balance everything in life can be easier for you because you’ll feel better. By healing you pain through stretching from the inside out, your circulation improves and it is easier to cope with life’s stresses.
Stretching From the Inside Out helps you do the things you love to do. If you’ve had sports injuries, surgeries, car crashes of any intensity, or other traumas at any time in your life, it is likely most of what you are feeling can easily be related back to those events. When we peel the layers of compensation, it is much easier to move forward with your healing program without setbacks of increased pain & disability. Inviting the body to let go rather than forcing it do what your mind wants it to do gets better long lasting results.
This method of stretching and releasing is easy and simple to do. It is remarkable in its effectiveness. In short order it will increase your mobility and reduce your pain while giving you a better understanding of what your body needs to heal so you get to do what you love to do for as long as you want.
If your pain interferes with your work, Stretching from the Inside Out will also give you tools you can use just about anywhere to help you stay comfortable and increase your productivity because it helps you feel better all over. Being able to address one’s pain conditions goes a long way to improving one’s state of mind and one’s outlook in life.
Stretching From the Inside Out Classes can help you gain control over & reduce pain that interferes with your life.

Testimonials for the 5 Session Class
I feel like I’ve been in quick sand without a rope, and now I have the rope to pull myself out.
I’ve tried many different modalities, (Chiro, PT, massage, shots, ultrasound, etc). The more I tried the worse it has gotten. I’ve been continuously relapsing. This is the first thing that has made a significant difference. I’m not regressing.
I learned enough that when an acute problem arises I have the tools to address the pain.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can see real progress with increased mobility, function and decreased pain.
I feel calmer. This has created a whole lifestyle change. It is helping me live a better life. LH.
I’ve been to the class 4 times (including the introductory class) and I have 35-40 easy doable exercises.
After stretching exercises, Last week (after 3 visits) I moved from walking 1 mile in 30 minutes to a 15 minute mile for 3 miles with just a few days of stretching.
I like the group class taking focus off me which gives me time for information to sink in. I learn from others too. Would have been too much if the total focus was on self.
I have more flexibility and more energy.
I believe I have the potential to heal. I didn’t feel that before this class.
I also have the energy to change things that are stuck in other areas of my life.
Definitely worth my while in time and I feel much better. Cheryl S.
Even though I signed up for a 1/2 marathon before I started the class, I am more willing to do it now and I believe I can stay healthy enough to do it. Cheryl S.
